Day 5 started pleasantly enough despite chances of rain and gusty winds.  Neither seriously hampered our trip from Elk Rapids to Charlevoix.

Judy took the photos of the other three boats arriving at the Charlevoix channel and the bridge opening.    The welcome sign in the channel says Charlevoix the beautiful.  It really is quite spectacular, even to those of us who have been here before.  Lots of shops--clothes, ice cream, fudge.  All the essentials.

Hal, Pat and crew at Charlevoix City Marina were ready and waiting to help us dock and begin a day of shopping, laundry, leisure, happy hour (aboard Deja Blue) and dinner at Great Lakes Fish and Chips.

We heard from Steve and Joyce that parts for Sea Haven should arrive in Manistee tomorrow and, maybe, they'll be underway in the afternoon.  No hurry, since winds are expected to be quite strong.

We'll be here again tomorrow (Thursday) and plans are for a dinghy tour to oooh and aaah at some of the spectacular homes and gardens.

Additional photos:  We mentioned dinghy portage from Elk Rapids Harbor to Elk Lake.  Webb demonstrates how it was done (loading the dinghys on a trailer).  Fabiano's where we had lunch featured a sign we all endorsed.  And Katie, aboard Deja Blue, captured another gorgeous sunset at Elk Rapids.
